AgriLogistic Co. Ltd., a local specialist in fertigation systems, recently faced an interface challenge when pairing a Hefei Siko paddle-wheel flow transducer with a Progrés AGRONIC 4500 irrigation controller.
The transducer generates a high-frequency NPN open-collector pulse stream (1,213 to 12,136 PPM for 22–220m3h flow rates). This exceeded the maximum input frequency capacity of the AGRONIC digital inputs.
To resolve this bottleneck, Mastering & Innovation Est. (M&I) engineered and manufactured a dedicated Pulse Train Adapter Card. Utilizing a CD4020 binary counter IC with selectable division ratios, the board scales down the pulse frequency before passing it through an NE555 monostable output stage to generate clean, consistent 300ms output pulses.
Six units were manufactured, delivered, and successfully deployed in the field. Through close cooperation between M&I Est. and AgriLogistic Co. Ltd., the project was completed with exceptional signal accuracy, low turnaround time, and significant cost savings.
